Pricing Art
Our pricing aims to strike a balance between making art widely accessible to many people—we love Cheap Art—and paying our artists a dignified wage.
Depending on the artwork, our inkjet digital prints are available in large, medium, small sizes. Large prints are approximately 13″ x 19″ and include a shipping surcharge to cover the cost of shipping them rolled in a durable poster tube. Anything else you order (calendars, smaller art, etc.) will ship separately in its own flat mailer or box. Medium prints are approximately 10″ x 8″ and small prints approximately 5″ x 7″. Exact dimensions will vary depending on the layout and composition of the particular artwork.
Our original art linoleum block prints are medium sized and ship flat to keep costs down for you and for us.
Please contact us directly if you wish to ship large size prints internationally, or if you are placing an order for a variety of large prints and want to avoid paying the shipping surcharge multiple times.
Producing Art
At Wolf Hill Press, we design, illustrate, carve, stamp, print, paint, cut, fold, and bind nearly everything in house. A few products are printed by a union print shop near our studio.
Because the paper industry is unpredictable, we do not have one paper that we always use. We always get the most sustainable, best quality paper available at the time. We particularly look for things like: recycled fibers, particularly post-consumer waste; ecologically friendlier fibers such as hemp; salvage paper which would otherwise go to waste; Forest Stewardship Council certification.
Greeting cards are printed on 120# paper.
Inkjet digital prints are printed on a variety of papers ranging from 110# to 140#.
Paper weights for original art linoleum block prints are listed in the product descriptions.
Wall calendars and larger run books are printed by a local union print shop.
Smaller run books, including poetry books, are printed on 100% recycled pages and handbound in-house.
